Who We Are

Helping Hands Organisation (H2O) is a not-for-profit based put of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala that focuses on supporting underprivileged children with Autism and other Learning and Behavioural differences. We also have sister programmes which support our primary cause, while also addressing various social groups in the need for support.

Daffodils

Our primary programme dedicated to underprivileged children with Autism and other learning and behavioural differences. With 72 registered beneficiaries – 52 of whom attend our centre everyday – our Daffodils programme is our central focus of work. Our children are educated and trained by skilled professionals and psychologists, are provided with regular therapies (as per individual needs), and are even trained vocationally to prepare them for their futures.

Pratheeksha

Our second programme serving a two-way purpose: providing holistic education to underprivileged children, as well as getting them acquainted to understand, accept and work with children with Autism and other disabilities. The Pratheeksha programme envisions a future for its 91 registered children, which is progressive, responsible and inclusive. The programme is hosted every weekend at the centre, and is run largely by our youth volunteers.

Sanjeevani

Our outreach programme for the elderly poor, in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Ananthapuri Hospitals. With 61 beneficiaries identified under this programme, our volunteers visit our older beneficiaries every week, providing them with food and nutrition kits and regular health check-ups.  This is an entirely volunteer-driven initiative and is an integral part of our inclusive approach towards social support and development

#MeTheChange

The ‘MeTheChange’ campaign is a step towards trying to encourage our neurotypical children across schools to find their voice, learn to communicate their thoughts and opinions and find the confidence to successfully act on the change they would like to see in the society around them. Over the past four years, we have collected over 6000 stories of small and big changes, and we are proud that the campaign continues its impact across Kerala, and beyond!

The H2O Community

At H2O, each one of us grow with our beneficiaries – while helping them realise their own potentials, their talents, and understanding that with a little bit of patience, nothing is impossible. This journey is what makes H2O, and its people. It’s the journey that builds and binds us. Our children, our staff and our volunteers – are beyond just a cause. We are a community. We are the H2O Community.

Investing in the Cause

Because your support helps us impact lives

The 500 Club

Join our 500 club, by donating INR 500 per therapy, per child, per month – that’s all we need for a differently-abled beneficiary to learn skills for a lifetime. All donations are 80G exempted, and FCRA approved (in case of international donations)

Volunteer

Every person’s effort is a helping hand, far more valuable than can be quantified. Join us to become a part of a volunteering community, across the state, working hard to build the H2O movement, raising awareness around disability, access and inclusivity

Social Partnering

H2O always welcomes corporates and other organisations to associate in the work – especially the outreach work – that we do. As a grassroots NGO which works with the underprivileged communities, the financial and resource support goes a long way in improving the quality of our work. Reach out to us on info@helpinghandsorganisation.org, to join us in creating impact together!

H2O Ambassadors

Our youth volunteers have been our pillars. H2O is in the lookout for keen youngsters who will enrol in a one year certificate programme (part-time) with H2O, helping the organisation with vital regular and event-based projects through supervision, decision making and implementation.
