Legislative Assembly and Museum Visit

Our students were taken to visit legislative assembly and museum. Volunteers and students were teamed up before visit, in order to provide each student care. The Daffodils and children in Pratheeksha arrived by 11:30am at the legislative assembly. The first visit was to the speaker’s gallery, which was situated on the fifth level of the assembly building. The details about the design of the gallery and it's seating arrangements were explained.

Disha’16 – Calicut

DISHA – The Direction, A volunteer initiative of Helping Hands Organisation has spread its wings in the land of Zamorins, Kozhikode. Draupathy Amma’s Home

Draupathy Amma is 73 years young, her eyes show signs of cataract, she lives in a house with her cat and its 3 kittens. The monsoon isn't too kind to old people who live under roofs with holes. Apart from a small space in the kitchen which offers warmth to the cats, the house was wetter than an otter's pocket. The sound of rainwater dripping all over the floor served as a background to an old song that was coming from a tired radio. Draupathy Amma

Helping hands organisation, as a part of our civic awareness program our civic tutors take it upon themselves to educate our younger generation about the need to follow traffic rules and to respect the road. We conduct yearly traffic awareness programs where school children are given an opportunity to interact with the traffic police department. The program includes awareness classes, interaction with officers and the children are even given a chance
